The Grand Cavalcade at The Dock Museum
Wednesday 26 August 11.30am and 2pm
Three seasoned showmen Gary (Gacko) Bridgens, Ian (The Storyteller) Douglas and Dieter (Professor Pumpernickel) Wadeson are regular performers at many leading national and international festivals delivering high quality family-friendly entertainment, often commanding huge audiences but also specialists in smaller, more intimate, bespoke experiences.
From Glasgow to Glastonbury, San Francisco to Scarborough, Dubai to Durham, these three versatile professional showmen have performed at countless events and have come together to offer you a brand new show for your 2020 Summer season.
Presented by the infamous Victorian scientist and adventurer, Mr Foppletwig, The Grand Cavalcade is a charming yet chaotic hour of myths, music, magic and mayhem plus oodles of perfectly partitioned participation.
Thrill as Mr Foppletwig and his long suffering servants, Mr Douglas and Sherper Tenbob, unload a curious cargo of baffling stories, bawdy music hall singalongs and utterly stupid stunts.
Smoke, silliness, flashes, bangs, live music and puerility all combine to bring you the true flavour of festival in bewildering and breathtaking fashion.
The Grand Cavalcade was Britain’s first live outdoor performance after C19 restrictions were lifted recently and at one second past midnight on July 31st July delivered the first indoor theatre performance too.
The show is designed to be fully C19 aware so that both audience and performers are managed sensibly and safely to government standards whilst maintaining a true familiar feel of balmy summer fun.
Social distancing measures will be in place and must be adhered to.
Programme subject to change due to Government guidelines or adverse weather conditions.
