SINFONIA: Stories from Barrow

PLEASE NOTE:

This performance will take place in a new pop-up theatre space in the anteroom.

Times are 1.30 and 7.30pm approx. 75 mins no interval

Everyone has a story to tell. Together, they create a symphony.

Join a cast of Barrovian older people, who tell their personal stories, their dreams and ambitions, in this moving, poignant show from an often-overlooked generation.

Sinfonia is a show with real-life stories; a rich and moving performance interwoven with original music and beautiful choreography.

Audiences will laugh, cheer and perhaps even cry as Sinfonia explores the relationship between intimacy and spectacle. This show demonstrates how we can build love and solidarity for one another, when we believe in something together.

Created by The Performance Ensemble, the first professional older people’s theatre company in the UK, this is a brand new Barrovian production, with BarrowFull performers and creatives and Barrovian stories; a unique celebration of lives being lived to the fullest.

“This beautifully simple idea – letting the older generation step up to the microphone to tell a story – is joyful and life-affirming.” — The Stage

“These are stories told with warmth, humour and Yorkshire grit… a real gem of a show.” — The Yorkshire Post
